Your privacy is important to us. This privacy statement explains the personal data reaching4 processes, how reaching4 processes it, and for what purposes.

reaching4 offers a range of development products and services that help our users’ develop dream careers. References to Reaching4 products and services  in this statement include "The Career Playground" for the web and "" for Microsoft TEAMS.

This statement applies to the interactions reaching4 has with you and the personal data you enter in our products as you engage with and use them.



reaching4 collects data from you, through our interactions with you and through our Career Playground and Apps. You provide some of this data directly, and we get some of it by collecting data about your interactions, use, and experiences with our apps. The data we collect depends on the context of your interactions with Career Playground and usage of and the choices you make, including your privacy settings and the features you use.

You have choices when it comes to the data you share. When we ask you to provide personal data, you can decline. Our products require some personal data to provide you with a service. If you choose not to provide data required to provide you with a product or feature, you cannot use that product or feature. Likewise, where we need to collect personal data by law or to enter into, or carry out a contract with you, and you do not provide the data, we will not be able to enter into the contract; or if this relates to an existing product you’re using, we may have to suspend or cancel it. We will notify you if this is the case at the time. Where providing the data is optional, and you choose not to share personal data, features like personalization that use such data will not work for you.


reaching4 uses the data we collect to provide you with rich, interactive experiences which includes:


  1. Delivering your own personalized skills development, role and career development experiences which enable you to master the skills associated with your current role and prepare for next roles that you aspire to.

  2. Updating, securing, and troubleshooting, as well as providing support. It also includes sharing data, when it is required to provide the service or carry out the transactions you request.

  3. Improve and develop our products.

  4. Personalize our products and make recommendations.

  5. Advertise and market to you, which includes sending promotional communications, targeting advertising, and presenting you with relevant offers.

  6. We also use the data to operate our business, which includes analysing our performance, meeting our legal obligations, developing our workforce, and doing research.

In carrying out these purposes, we combine data we collect from different contexts (for example, from our partnership with OpenAI and from your use of reaching4 products) to give you a seamless, consistent, and personalized experience, to make informed business decisions, and for other legitimate purposes.

Our processing of personal data for these purposes includes both automated and manual (human) methods of processing. Our automated methods often are related to and supported by our manual methods. For example, our automated methods include artificial intelligence (AI), which we think of as a set of technologies that enable computers to perceive, learn, reason, and assist in decision-making to solve problems in ways that are similar to what people do. To build, train, and improve the accuracy of our automated methods of processing (including AI), we manually review some of the predictions and inferences produced through our partnership with OpenAI using sampling and comparison methods against the underlying data from which predictions and inferences in our Apps are made. This manual review may be conducted by reaching4 employees or vendors who are working on reaching4’s behalf.



We share your personal data with your consent or to complete any transaction or provide any product you have requested or authorized. We also share data reaching4-controlled affiliates and subsidiaries; with vendors working on our behalf always in compliance with contracts and Statement of Work terms agreed with our clients; when required by law or to respond to legal process; to protect our customers; to protect lives; to maintain the security of our products; and to protect the rights and property of reaching4 and its customers.


You can also make choices about the collection and use of your data by reaching4. You can control your personal data that reaching4 has obtained, and exercise your data protection rights, by contacting reaching4 or using various tools we provide. In some cases, your ability to access or control your personal data will be limited, as required, or permitted by applicable law. How you can access or control your personal data will also depend on which products you use. For example, you can:

  1. Control the sharing of your data in by using Safezone controls and preferences to turn off data sharing.

  2. Control the sharing of your data in by using the GDPR Admin to turn off data sharing.

What are cookies? Cookies are simple text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device by the server. Each cookie is unique to your web browser. It will contain some anonymous information such as a unique identifier, websites domain name and some digits and numbers.

What types of cookies do we use?

  1. Necessary cookies; Necessary cookies allow us to offer you the best possible experience when accessing and navigating through using teh playground and features. For example, these cookies let us recognize that you have completed skill inventory, have defined growth priorities, and have accessed learning content.

  2. Functionality cookies; Functionality cookies let us operate the playground and in accordance with the personalized choices you make, for example, we will recognize your role and remember how you customized the site during future visits.

  3. Analytical cookies; These cookies enable us to collect “Aggregated” data only for statistical purposes on how users use the playground and apps and helping to build insights about your company’s skill trends, priorities and gaps. These cookies do not contain personal information such as names and email addresses and are used to help us improve your user experience of the website.

How to delete cookies?

If you want to restrict or block the cookies that are set by our website, you can do so through your browser setting. How we respond to Data Breaches?

Any unauthorized access to, unauthorized acquisition of, or accidental release of personal information that compromises the security, confidentiality, or integrity of Data Subjects data constitutes a data breach. The reaching4 Compliance Officer leads the response to any identified or suspected data breaches.

The Compliance Officer shall: Notify clients upon identification of an actual or suspected breach of data. Notification shall occur not more than 24 hours following the discovery of a data breach and within 72hrs of a data breach reaching4 communicates the results of its remediation processes to ensure the breach is not repeatable.

reaching4 will make all reasonable attempts to notify Customers and Data Subjects whose data has been compromised or released without authorization within 24hrs of a data breach and take all necessary steps to restore data, reinforce security and to return all systems to full operation as soon as possible.

How we ensure the Integrity of data?

reaching4 takes necessary steps to ensure the integrity of data and reports including the monitoring, sampling, and verifying the integrity of users data. These steps include:

  1. Monitoring reports on the breadth of users that have completed skill inventories and the depth of skills with skill inventories completed.

  2. Alignment monitor reports on the differences in skill inventories between data subjects to identify possible data integrity and or authenticity issues.

Prior to publishing data reaching4 verifies the integrity of data by taking samples of data and comparing data against expected outcomes.  

How we retain and or erase data?

reaching4 complies with documented retention policies or retention requirements as specified and or communicated by our customers and users.


reaching4 ensures processes are in place that when data is removed by reaching4 explicitly by users or based on other triggers like the age of the data, that it is securely deleted. reaching4 communicates its data retainment policy 30 days prior to the end of a contract and within 30 days of six months after the end of a contract to inform the customer that data will be purged and permanently deleted after six months. When the destruction of Customer Personal or Confidential Data is necessary reaching4 erases data so that the information cannot be read or reconstructed.
